Meet the Delightful Istanbul A-Team

Welcome to Istanbul Aydın University! As an incoming study-abroad or exchange student, you might be feeling excited—and maybe a little nervous—about navigating a new city, culture, and campus. That’s where the Delightful Istanbul A-Team steps in!

The A-Team is our official cohort of enthusiastic student volunteers whose mission is to help you feel at home from day one. Whether you’re shy, traveling solo, or simply curious about Turkish life, these friendly faces will guide you through every step of your stay:

  • Buddy System & Campus Tours
    Each A-Team member is paired with a small group of incoming students. They’ll introduce you to campus hotspots—the libraries, cafeterias, study lounges, and the best coffee nooks—so you never feel lost.
  • Cultural Icebreakers & Social Events
    From tea chats and Turkish coffee tastings to weekend excursions in historic Sultanahmet, our team organizes regular events designed to break the ice and build friendships. No formalities—just genuine fun and shared experiences.
  • Practical Support
    Need help topping up your student card? Wondering how to get a SIM card, or where to find halal/kosher groceries? A-Team volunteers know the city inside out and can point you to the right shops, apps, and tips.
  • Academic & Language Assistance
    Struggling with a course requirement or wanting to practice your Turkish? Many A-Team members have served on Erasmus exchanges themselves, so they understand firsthand the challenges—and joys—of studying abroad.
  • Personal Growth & Networking
    Volunteering with the A-Team is also an opportunity: you can step into leadership roles (event planner, social-media coordinator, peer mentor) and add real-world experience to your CV.
