Visa Information
Türkiye has flexible visa policies, but the requirements vary depending on your nationality.
Visa-Free Entry
Citizens of several countries, including most European Union member states, the USA, Canada, Japan, and South Korea, do not require a visa for short tourist or study visits, usually up to 90 days within a 180-day period.
For detailed information on the visa requirements specific to your country, please visit: https://www.mfa.gov.tr/visa-information-for-foreigners.en.mfa
E-Visa Option
For students who do require a visa, Türkiye offers an e-Visa system to citizens of around 50 countries. You can check from https://evisa.gov.tr/en/info/who-is-eligible-for-e-visa/
If you are from one of these countries, you can apply quickly and easily online at www.evisa.gov.tr without visiting an embassy.
Important: Not everyone is eligible for the e-Visa. Please check the official e-Visa website for eligibility details before applying. Citizens of countries not eligible for the e-Visa must apply for a visa at a Turkish embassy or consulate.
Residence Permits for Longer Stays
If you plan to stay longer than your visa or visa-free allowance, you must apply for a residence permit in Türkiye. This usually applies to students on long-term programs but is not necessary for Delightful Istanbul’s short-term program.
Health Insurance Requirement
While visa-free visitors are not legally required to have health insurance to enter Türkiye, all students participating in the Delightful Istanbul program must have valid health insurance covering their stay in Türkiye. This is a mandatory condition to apply and attend the program.
